Uncanny Valley 3 Information/Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the Uncanny Valley — a small, independent gathering in the woods, built by people who care deeply about art, music, stories, and looking after one another.
Uncanny is a temporary village. It’s messy in places, magical in others, and entirely made by humans doing their best. We ask everyone who comes to arrive with a bit of patience, a bit of self-awareness, and a willingness to look out for the people (and creatures) around them. The information below is here to help you get the most out of the weekend and to keep the whole thing running safely.
Attendance at Uncanny Valley is subject to the festival’s Conditions of Entry and compliance with all signage and instructions from festival staff, stewards, security, and welfare teams.
Location & Arrival
Where is Uncanny Valley 3?
The third edition of Uncanny Valley is once again taking place in an undisclosed location somewhere in Suffolk, which will be revealed to ticketholders closer to the event. We can let you in on a secret though — it will be in IP12 again.
When should I arrive at Uncanny Valley 3?
Our programming starts at 6pm on Thursday 23 April and ends at 6am on Sunday 26 April.
Accreditation will be open from 12pm–10pm on Thursday, and may be staggered during peak arrival periods for safety and crowd management. Accreditation will also be open on Friday and Saturday during the same hours.
Tickets, Refunds & Entry
How do I get a ticket for Uncanny Valley 3?
Tickets for the third edition of Uncanny Valley are on sale via Ticket Tailor.
Can I get a refund or change my ticket?
Uncanny Valley is a small festival without substantial cash reserves, and income from ticket sales is spent directly on infrastructure and delivery. Tickets are therefore non-refundable, unless the event is cancelled outright and not rescheduled.
If the event is cancelled and not rescheduled, refunds will be issued to the original purchaser (excluding booking fees). If the event is postponed or rescheduled, tickets will remain valid for the new date. Changes to the line-up, timetable, or site layout are not grounds for a refund.
Can I resell or transfer my ticket?
You’re welcome to pass a ticket on at face value if you can’t attend. Resale for profit or use in competitions isn’t permitted without permission, and tickets found to be resold in breach of this may be cancelled without refund. Tickets are valid only for the named event and dates.
Please contact us at info@uncannyevents.co.uk to tell us if you have sold your ticket so we can change the name on our database. Please include the original ticketholders name, the new ticketholders name, and the ticket number in this email.
What happens if someone causes problems on site?
We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, or in breach of festival rules or the law. If you’re removed from the site, no refund will be given.
By buying a ticket, you agree to follow festival policies and staff instructions. We’re friendly, but we’re not negotiable about safety.
Vehicles, Parking & Vans
Can I park my car at Uncanny Valley 3?
Yes. As we’re in a rural location with limited public transport, parking will be provided for ticketholders. The exact location is still to be finalised, and there may be a short walk between the car park and the festival site.
Once you are in, vehicle movement on site is restricted and must follow steward instructions at all times.
Can I bring my camper van to Uncanny Valley 3?
Yes. Van tickets are currently on sale at:
https://www.tickettailor.com/events/uncannyevents/1775137
Space is limited, so we strongly recommend buying in advance.
If you would like to bring a caravan, please contact us at info@uncannyevents.co.uk to let us know beforehand!
What to Bring & Site Conditions
What should I bring with me?
Uncanny Valley is a rural woodland festival taking place in April. Please come prepared for:
- Variable weather (including rain and mud)
- Cold nights
- Uneven ground
Good footwear, warm layers, a torch, waterproof tent, roll mat, good quality sleeping bag, and a reusable water bottle are strongly recommended.
Will there be phone signal on site?
Mobile phone signal is limited and unreliable across much of the site. Please plan accordingly and don’t rely on mobile data for essential communication.
Is there drinking water available?
Yes. Free drinking water will be available on site. Please bring a refillable bottle.
Are there showers?
No. There are no showers on site.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Uncanny Valley will go ahead rain or shine, unless conditions are deemed unsafe. Wet weather is part of the reality of an outdoor woodland event! Please come prepared.
Food, Drink & Fires
What food is available?
A small number of independent food traders will be operating on site. Options and opening times may be limited during quieter hours. We recommend eating before arrival if you’re arriving late.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
You’re welcome to bring your own food and drink for personal consumption.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited from being brought into bar areas. The festival’s bars are one of the main income streams that allow the event to happen again — by supporting them, you help ensure it does.
Remember: heroes buy beeroes.
Are fires allowed in camping areas?
No. Fires, fire pits, candles, BBQs, or stoves are only permitted in designated areas if provided by the festival.
Prohibited Items & Substances
Is anything banned at Uncanny Valley?
For the safety of everyone on site, the following objects are not permitted at the festival without prior, explicit permission from the organisers:
- Fire or ignition sources used outside designated areas (including fireworks, flares, smoke bombs, candles, fire pits, BBQs, stoves, or loose fuel)
- Glass (including bottles, jars, or mirrors)
- Lasers, drones, or aerial devices
- Generators, gas canisters, fuel, or unauthorised electrical equipment
- Weapons or items carried or used as weapons (including realistic weapon props, or tools used aggressively or irresponsibly)
Any item deemed unsafe or inappropriate by festival staff may be refused entry or removed.
Can I bring illegal substances to Uncanny Valley?
Sorry Space Cadets — the law still applies at our festival, and illegal substances are not permitted on site.
We take a particularly firm approach to ketamine due to its well-documented welfare risks in festival environments. This is treated as a zero-tolerance issue.
Is medical cannabis allowed at Uncanny Valley?
Registered medical cannabis patients are permitted to bring their prescribed medication. Please contact us in advance at info@uncannyevents.co.uk with details of your prescription so we can make sure no one hassles you about it.
Children
Is Uncanny Valley suitable for children?
Uncanny Valley is primarily an adult-oriented event and is not designed with children in mind.
Ticketholders aged 13–17 may attend only when accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.
Tickets are not valid for anyone under the age of 13.
We do not have the infrastructure, entertainment, or “safe zones” required to accommodate humans of that small scale. The woods are dark, the noise is loud, and the narrative rituals we are running are designed for an adult headspace, not a family outing.
Accessibility at Uncanny Valley 3
We aim to make Uncanny as accessible as the site realistically allows. Please read this information carefully so you can decide whether the event will work for you.
Contact & booking
Accessible van or tent camping is available close to the arena for disabled people and people with long-term health conditions. Booking is required. Please email info@uncannyevents.co.uk as early as possible so we can plan and support you properly.
Camping & parking
Accessible camping is located as close to the arena as the site allows. Cars cannot stay nearby tents. Vehicles cannot physically access tent camping areas, and the car park is not a safe place to pitch a tent. We can assist with moving equipment from cars to the campsite on arrival. There are no vehicle power or water hook-ups.
Power & facilities
Electricity is available on site. We can charge electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters at Welfare. Accessible toilets are provided. No showers are available.
Site conditions
Uncanny Valley takes place on a rural woodland site with uneven ground, brambles and nettles in places, substantial inclines, and a high likelihood of mud in wet weather. There are no hardstanding paths.
People with additional mobility needs, or who use personal mobility devices such as electric scooters or wheelchairs may struggle with parts of the ground in the arena.
If you require smooth or paved surfaces, flat terrain, guaranteed dry ground, or vehicle access next to your tent, Uncanny Valley 3 may not be suitable for you. If you’re unsure, please contact us before booking and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Carer/Companion Tickets
Uncanny Valley is a small, independent DIY project. With a capacity of less than a thousand, every ticket sold is what pays for the stages, the sound, and the site. There are no corporate sponsors, just the ticket revenue.
Despite this, we want the festival to be accessible to everyone, so we offer a “Pay What You Can Afford” system for carer tickets.
If you’re in a position to pay the standard rate for a carer ticket, it goes a long way toward keeping the festival viable. If you need a lower rate to make it to the woods, that’s exactly why the system is there.
To sort yours out, drop us a line at info@uncannyevents.co.uk.
Dogs at Uncanny Valley 3
Uncanny Valley is dog-friendly, not dog-centred. Dogs are welcome only if they are calm, well-socialised, and under full control at all times. This is a loud, busy, unpredictable environment and is not suitable for every dog.
Core rules (non-negotiable)
- All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times
- One dog ticket per dog (dogs without a dog ticket will not be admitted)
- Maximum two dogs per adult ticket-holder
- Dogs must remain with and under the direct control of their owner at all times
Behaviour & welfare
Dogs must be non-aggressive and non-reactive. Barking, lunging, snapping, growling, chasing, or distress behaviours will result in intervention. Dogs showing signs of stress, overheating, fear, or aggression will be required to be removed from public areas. Intoxicated handling of dogs is not acceptable.
Restricted areas
Dogs are not permitted in:
- Crowded or enclosed venues (tents, marquees, indoor stages)
- Food preparation or serving areas
- High-density dancefloor areas
- Any area clearly marked “No Dogs”
Owner responsibilities
By bringing a dog, you agree that you are fully responsible for your dog’s behaviour, welfare, and any injury, damage, nuisance, or fouling caused. You must carry and use poop bags, clean up immediately, and provide adequate water, shade, rest, and care. Dogs must be healthy, vaccinated, and treated for fleas/ticks.
Mandatory removal & refusal
If requested by festival staff, security, welfare teams, or relevant authorities, you must remove your dog from the festival site. This includes situations where a dog is acting in breach of animal welfare or public order legislation.
Failure to comply will result in ejection from the festival with no refund. Festival staff have absolute discretion to refuse entry to or require the removal of any dog, and this may include removal of the owner if necessary.
Be honest with yourself: if your dog struggles with crowds, loud noise, long days, or other dogs or strangers, this is not the right environment. Leaving them at home is the responsible choice.
Assistance dogs are welcome and free but must be arranged in advance by emailing info@uncannyevents.co.uk. All other dogs require a dog ticket.
